"Disassociation"

Lights are low and music’s pumping
Heartbeat of the bar is thumping
I have lost all self-awareness
Through with hoops that I was jumping

But in a helping of unfairness
Struck am I with my own rareness
A statue striking perfect poise
And I don’t know if I can bare this

The music has become but noise
And strangers are these girls and boys
The world’s the world and I am me
And I know nothing of its joys

I take a sip of beer or three
To salvage this sobriety
Be more than just an atom bumping
Others in an empty sea
