"Gray"

The world is not in black and white.
In time the starkest fabric fades.
We are not woven dark or light;
Each soul has wrongs and rights in spades.
The quilt of humankind is gray,
But every square in different grades.
We are one color, so we say —
In lighter and in darker shades.
