My God, why have You made the heavens so?
No firmament around us to enclose;
A universe too vast, and still it grows.
This world, Your centerpiece not long ago,
Is now a misplaced marble drifting slow.
The stars that once were close enough to cose
Are lost in darkness, never to interpose.
A near deserted heaven’s all I know.
But we on Earth still watch the skies at night,
That sparkle-studded blanket black above,
A master’s handicraft of time and light,
An omnipotent art of Him thereof;
The outer space, an ocean out of sight,
A testament worked in and out of love.
